Not a rain jacket
This is more of a windbreaker. It gets soaked through every time my daughter wears it in the rain and is pretty much useless for repelling water.

Not really a rain jacket
I would consider this a windbreaker, not a rain jacket. It says "rain resistant" in the more detailed description but I didn't look that closely before ordering. It is very thin. Probably ok to wear in a light drizzle but I wouldn't consider this as the kind of rain coat you send your kid to the bus stop in during a steady rain. The pattern is pretty and I might consider keeping it as a light spring coat, but will continue to search for something waterproof. I would only recommend this as a spring coat not as a rain coat.
