Size up
I usually size up in flip flops myself but got my son his normal shoe size. The elastic in the back is very tight and will keep them on all day long even through tantrums. However, they do run a little small, they leave little marks between his toes and on the back where the elastic is. I would size up

Water shoes
Size 7 fit my 2 year old. The elastic on the back is tight enough that it makes it hard for them to remove on their own, which is nice. They stay on well. Try them on your child, the size comparison may be different with the tight elastic

What size is a large?
I have tried going into 2 different links for sizing on flip flops with 0 success! Sort of frustrating. I’ve also attempted to view sizing on other websites as well as store “sizing”. Frustrating
