Not skinny as they look
I looked at all the pictures of the jeans and chose these ones because they looked the skinniest. I really loved the slim fit look. Looked exactly like ones my daughter just grew out of and loved. However, upon opening them, I was disappointed that they didn't look skinny at all. They are actually quite baggy and my kid isn't even extra skinny, just normal. Really disappointed that the jeans we got don't look like the picture. Maybe Carters has the wrong picture with the description. There's another pair that say "Super skinny" but the picture is baggy so we didn't get those. But maybe this picture belongs with those. In any case, very disappointed because we only ordered one pair of jeans, this is the only pair my daughter has, and they are baggy and not that cute on her. It cost too much to ship them back and exchange them, so we're stuck with them. I love Carters clothes, but need them to have accurate pictures or free returns.
Also, these came up under girl jeans. I see other reviews that are for boys. These actually would make great boy jeans. But my child is a girl and likes tight fitting jeans and leggings. And that's what they looked like.

Good quality and fit
They fit well and appear as pictured. My son is on the tall and skinny side, so the ability to cinch the waist is super helpful! These are a skinny fit but not overly so.

what does husky refers to....my son is short even though he is nine years old so sometimes the pants are a bit a too long for him so not quite sure which is the best option

How adjustable is the waist? I need an 8R because of height but child's waist is only 22".
They are able to go really small. Each side has 5 holes to adjust the waist down.
