I bought this online so I had no way of knowing there is a giant patch of scratchy synthetic fabric on the inside of the shirt serving as backing for the embroidery. The patch is huge, covering most of the chest and tummy area. There is no way this is OK for a newborn's sensitive skin. Sadly, I already took the tags off and was turning the outfit inside out to wash it, otherwise I would have returned it.
