Needs chin stra
If you plan to use this where there's no breeze it will probably be fine but on the windy beach it will not stay on no matter what because it needs a chin strap to keep it in place. Otherwise it's a cute hat

Is this UPF 50 because of a chemical coating?
The fabric provides natural protection from the sun’s rays equivalent to or better than the UPF rating as they absorb/reflect the light and only a small fraction passes through to the wearer’s skin. Carters and OshKosh Swimwear has tightly woven or knit fabrics that allow very little light to pass through, there is no need for any coatings or chemicals.
