Is this safe in a car seat? Not sure if this is ok for my child to wear while in the car.

For children in car seats, snowsuits, bunting and jackets can pose a safety risk. The harness systems in car seats, are not designed for babies wearing snow suits, thick coats, parkas and bunting bags.
